Treatment of Lumbar Disc Herniation for a man in 30s advised to undergo surgery - DST Method (Discseel™)
Patient began to experience lower back pain since September last year. He was diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation at L3/4 disc level, and lumbar disc degeneration at L4/5 disc level.
In addition, a Schmorl node was discovered on the cephalic (top) endplate of L4. He was advised to undergo surgery, but learned about the non-surgery treatment at this hospital and wishes to proceed with treatment here if possible.
Diagnostic Imaging Results
Pain in right side of the lower back from September last year. Diagnosed with herniated disc at L3/4, disc degeneration at L4/5, Schmorl node at L4.
Lumbar disc degeneration and lumbar disc herniation detected at L3/4 L4/5 disc levels. Particularly in L3/4, there is a decrease in disc volume, and a strong suspicious of injury to the annulus fibrosus.
Since there is a high possibility of an injury of the annulus fibrosus, the DST (Discseel™) Treatment is necessary as a disc treatment, with an efficacy rate of about 73-80% towards lower back pain.
Medical Condition(s): Lumbar Disc Herniation
DST (Discseel™) Treatment at 2 disc levels.
